The Twilight Issue
This is about all the hate surrounding this series and if it might have a point.
Yeah,you’ve all heard of it. Twilight. All the girls know about it,most of the guys hate it. Lets examine the following reasons people hate this series:
- It gives girls “Unrealistic” views on men
- It distorts the vampire myths
- It’s overrated
- It’s for “Little kids” and not older people.
So…. Lets start with number one: If you are anyone sane,you will know that no matter how in love with Edward you might be,no matter how dazzled or captivated you are…You know hes not real. He never will be. So,alot of young girls do read and watch Twilight and its sequels and spend a period of time waiting for an Edward. But,we will all grow out of it
Number 2: When you write a book,you have the world at your finger tips. Who cares if the writer of Twilight didn’t follows the “Guidelines” of vampires? There are no guide lines to the imagination!
3) Its overrated. That is true. As lovely as a series it is,its all been hyped up to a near hysteric level just because of some good looking actors. Its fun to see our favorite characters portrayed from book to screen,but keep other peoples ears in mind while you appreciate it.
And NO it is not just for little kids. The books deal with a wide arrangement of mature subject matter,and are written towards a young adult audience. That being said, think twice before you rip on a series and don’t think through your argument
