What is the super-id, why should I have one? The super id is the id’s counterpart to the ego, which has a super-ego; a more developed and unique part of the collective unconscious, a silent modality of the psyche.
The super-id id not necessarily something that you need to have, nor is it something to worry about not having, according to conventional psychology. We humans have egos, super-egos, ids, and assimilate into the collective unconscious. We do not need to have distinct internal police super-ids, as ordinary human beings.
The super-id gets the picture, while the collective unconscious does not get the picture. To describe the super-id in terms that a fifth-grader would understand, comprehend, and relate to – the super-id sees, whereas the blind collective unconscious does not.
