The Shawshank Redemption is a successful film of 1994 which stars Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is wrongly accused of killing his wife and her lover and is sentenced to life at Shawshank Prison.
Andy is sent to Shawshank Prison where he gains the respect of fellow inmates, including Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding (Morgan Freeman). Redding gives Andy things from the outside, such as a sledgehammer and a poster. He gives the prison guards some financial advise and the warden (Bob Gunton) is interested in him.
Andy builds a library within the prison and helps the warden to partake in money scams. Later, Andy runs into another inmate called Tommy (Gil Bellows) and he tells Andy that he talked with another inmate named Ernie (Joseph Ragno). Ernie had spilled the beans to Tommy in that he murdered the wife of a banker and her lover and framed Andy for the crime.
The warden does not believe Andy’s story and kills Tommy. Andy has decided not to help the warden anymore with his money scams, but the warden threatened that he would get rid of the library. Later on, the guards do not find Andy in his cell; instead, they found out that he escaped using the sledgehammer to dig a hole and he hid the hole with the poster.
Andy had spent a painstaking 20 years to dig the hole for his escape. Along with his departure from the cell, Andy took the Warden’s scam money and fled town. The cops tried to capture the Warden, but he committed suicide.
Redding gets paroled and meets up with Andy in a Mexican town located on the Pacific Ocean. I loved this suspenseful film because the acting is incredible real. I would rate this film 10/10 for its strong emotions and credibility. Watch it today!
