The Roommate Review
Who doesn’t like a good thriller movie every now and then? A few weeks ago, I went to see The Roommate, and I’m giving my review on how I thought the movie was.
When I saw previews for The Roommate on T.V., I had to see it for two reasons: 1) it looked super good, and 2) Leighton Meester is in it, and I think she’s just amazing. I rounded up some friends to go see it with me, and long story short, I liked the movie.
The Roommate is about girls named Sarah (played by Minka Kelly) and Rebecca (played by Meester). They’re roommates at Los Angeles University. At the beginning of the movie, when the girls meet, each seems normal. But rapidly, Rebecca turns a bit… crazy. She doesn’t act crazy around Sarah, but she tries to get rid of everyone in Sarah’s life so Sarah only has Rebecca. Soon enough, however, Sarah finds out and almost immediately moves out. I won’t give anything else away, but that’s when things turn ugly.
The movie wasn’t what I expected, but I was pleased with it. The previews made the movie seem like it would be a scary movie, but in reality, it was more of a creepy movie. What I mean by that is Rebecca, the psychotic one, never did anything outright scary. She only did things that were creepy. But all in all, I’d recommend seeing it.
