The Oscars

King Speech long to reign over us (God save the King)

So last night was the Oscars of course the highest award anyone can receive in cinema.

The front runner with 11 nominations was of course Tom Hooper’s film about king George 6th’s speech impediment received 11 nominations and bagged 4 awards. The King speech unsurprisingly bagged the Oscar for best film, best leading actor for Colin Firth, best director for Tom Hooper and best adapted Screenplay for David Siedler.

It is unsurprising that The King Speech walked away with the awards it did last night. However one would expect and I expected too that it would walk away with more than the 4 it won i was expecting it to possibly make a clean sweep after it dominated both the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes

Again i congratulate Colin Firth for winning for his absolutely amazing role he deserves every last award he has won this year.

Best Leading Actress went to Natalie Portman for Black Swan, Briton Christian Bale bagged best supporting actor for the Fighter, Melissa Leo bagged the award for best supporting actress also for The Fighter and Inception walked away with all 3 effects awards.

This Years ceremony was terrific and I await the films to come this year and await the next ceremony
