I love Harry Potter. I really do and I have ever since my mom read me the books when I was 8. Every time I re-read the books I find something new and interesting and exciting. . I own all of the books, and plan on buying another copy of them all so I can write in them and all that jazz. Every time one of the movies comes out, I’m just as excited as any Harry Potter fan, so of course I had to go see Half Blood Prince ASAP. I saw in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 15th, 2009. Most of the time, after seeing that kind of movie (or any movie really), I leave the theater with a opinion of the movie (whether that be good or bad) and sometimes I stick with it and sometimes I don’t (actually, the Potter films are one of the only films that my opinion changed after my first opinion). But after this one, I didn’t know if I liked the movie or not. I thought it was a good film and probably one of the best Potter films made so far, but some of the extra things they put in really annoyed me. As of right now, I’m still not sure where I stand. I think, I think, I like. Like Haley G Hoover said so well, the other movies (specifically 5) are like the spark notes version of the books, and while HBP is still and abridged version, it’s a whole look better than previous ones. I think if it weren’t for that whole Christmas at the burrow scene, I think I would have liked it so much better. It was funny in parts, which I liked quite a bit. Overall, I think it was a wonderful film and a somewhat good adaptation of the book.
All I can say is, I canNOT wait for the Deathly Hallows films!
