The Most Brutal Horror Movies

These movies have been nicknamed sick, brutal, disgusting, torture porn etc, however they do have those thrills, screams and brutal story lines that made them a cult following among horror movies cohorts. I personally find them engaging and thrilling FICTION; where the content of the movies depicts the oddness of human deformity with the volume way turned up!

House of the thousand Corpses:

Written and directed by the heavy metal sensation “Rob Zombie” the film focuses on the carnage of a depraved and sinful family whose favorite pass time includes torturing their trapped victims to great length, satanic sacrifices and stocking up noxious corpses underneath the ground for some fun and laughter’s. The movie is no joke however and very soon its release it came under heavy firing from the ‘know- it –all- critiques’. Mostly blamed for its disturbing content the movie was marked ‘not-to-be-seen’, ‘by the sane’. However either the movie goers were insane or they did find some likable aspects to the sick flick. The movie did decent business, became a cult following for many splinter groups and lead to:

The Devils Reject

Follow up to the original House of the thousand Corpses, this movie has the volume turned bit down (thanks to the cries that echoed after the first flick). However the movie is still fun or sick whatever you take is on this subject. The family is on the run now, with the vengeance of a cop chasing them; who happens to be the brother of one of the family’s recent victim. With their brutality exposed and the law after their behind the family is trying to escape, all the while making small stops and making some gruesome killings and torture. Both the movies have much more to them and I don’t want to give away the storylines here. I recommend both these movies if you are not scared easily. These movies, even if not managing to scare you will surely disturb you for some days. And isn’t that fun?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Most horror movie fanatics must have seen this one. This movie was also graced with a recent remake (which is ok). The original Movie was an opening to the many brutal flicks for years to come. Also the fact that the movie was based on true incident occurring in Texas added on to its appeal. The movie has victims, pain, sick people and one friendly chainsaw killer who supposedly got his face tarnished due to some sick disease. I really don’t want to give anything away in this movie as well but if you want some weird time, watch this one alone with the volume turned up!

Saw (the entire series)

This is one of my personal favorite! The first movie made out of a limited budget and mostly confined to one hall with two actors was an instant hit and then followed many parts carrying the same story line to different levels. What makes this movie different is its captivating story line, brutality and the insane psychological puzzles. This movie did not fade with expansions to many parts; in fact the story line is now much stronger. The story scoundrel Jigsaw is a person whose sole purpose is to make other realize the true value of life. He does so by putting these victims in horrible traps and torture. Escaping jigsaw puzzle is not easy and more often bloody! The movie story line has much depth in it. This is not one of those movies where you can have the luxury to scream and shiver alone, you will also be moving with the story line discovering the meanings behind different plot. Highly Recommended.

Some Quick Picks

Hostel 1 and 2

This is one cool flick. Where else would you find the beautiful world of guts and glory? This is one pain filled journey showing the oh so stupid and innocent victims who end up caged or bounded. The villain are normal day people who get a good laugh torturing these people and they pay good money for it too . If you like brutality and entertainment in scream torture and blood, this is it.

The Collector:

This is a fast pace brutal flick with loads of blood screams and body parts flying. The movie has a story line but only to support the brutality in the movie. Story revolves around a very interesting collector, an isolated house with an unfortunate family, loads of exciting blood soaked traps and a very unfortunate thief. The movie is very fast paced so you won’t be bored. Typical viewers avoid it as it may leave you disgusted.

Cabin Fever

This movie is more disturbing then sick. The story line leaves a weird feeling in your stomach and that makes it a must watch.

Hell Raiser the Series:

These are demonic, satanic, tortures (running out of adjectives here) creatures. Creation of the wonderful mind of Clive Barker the acclaimed weird Author this movie has its fair share of troubling scenes which gives it the accolade to be on my brutal list!

Hills have eyes the original one

It’s your friendly cannibal meeting their unfortunate unwilling human lunch. This movie has a captivating story and some good kick ass western revenge for the good guys.

Dead Alive

This movie is pretty disgusting and funny. If this constitute brutal for you take a look at this one.

Halloween (Rob Zombie Version)

This is the remake of the actual Halloween but done so by the mind of Director Rob Zombie which makes it a lot more fun to watch.

There are many more movies to ponder here but perhaps it is best left for some future posts. These are I guess the better few of the many brutal ones out there. I’ll try again to grace you with some not so decent horror picks in other posts.

Till then scream !
