01 / The Departed (2006) a remake of Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, The Departed was directed by Martin Scorsese, written by William Monahan, and along with DiCaprio, stars Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga, and Alec Baldwin. It won 4 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for Scorsese.
02 / Shutter Island (2010) also directed by Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island is based on Dennis Lehane’s 2003 novel. DiCaprio stars as U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is investigating the psychiatric facility on Shutter Island.
03 / Catch Me If You Can (2002) based on the life of Frank Abagnale Jr, who conned millions of dollars by posing as a pilot, a doctor and an attorney. Steven Spielberg directed the film, which also stars Tom Hanks as well as Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen, and Nathalie Baye.
04 / The Basketball Diaries (1995) directed by Scott Kalvert, this film is based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Jim Carroll, which heavily focuses on his drug addiction, and stars Lorraine Bracco, James Madio and Mark Wahlberg.
05 / Revolutionary Road (2008) directed by Sam Mendes, this stars Kate Winslet alongside Di Caprio for the first time since Titanic. The screenplay by Justin Haythe is based on the 1961 novel of by Richard Yates.
06 / Blood Diamond (2006) directed by Edward Zwick, Blood Diamond also stars Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou. The title refers to diamonds mined in African war zones and sold to finance war, making profit for warlords and diamond companies. The film was nominated for five Oscars, including Best Actor for Di Caprio.
07 / Titanic (1997) directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron, this film is about the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Di Caprio stars as Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater, 2 members of different social backgrounds who fall in love aboard the ill-fated maiden voyage of the ship.
08 / The Beach (2000) made by the Trainspotting production team (consisting of John Hodge, producer Andrew Macdonald and director Danny Boyle) and based on the 1996 novel by Alex Garland, The Beach stars Tilda Swinton, Robert Carlyle, Virginie Ledoyen and Guillaume Canet.
09 / Gangs of New York (2002) set in the mid-19th century Five Points district of New York City, this film was directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Jay Cocks, Steven Zaillian, and Kenneth Lonergan.
10 / The Aviator (2004) directed again by Martin Scorsese, the Aviator, which centers on the life of aviation pioneer Howard Hughes (Di Caprio), draws largely upon a biography by Charles Higham.
