The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) – Reviewed by Alon Soler

I have to admit, in this review I’m quite bribed. David Fincher is one of my favorite film makers. His film-making abilities are unique, as his movies are always flavored with supreme cinematic quality – And yet they appeal to the wide audience. Fincher’s movies are stylish works of art, combining exceptional visual beauty of views and nature, fast cuts and extreme pace – Bringing together a masterful work of cinematic art. 

 His latest thriller, which has been premiered just soon enough to make it to the next Academy Awards, is no exception.  With his typical expertise, which has been shown perfectly in his 90s hit Seven, and in his acclaimed Zodiac, Fincher combines nerve wrecking cinematic progress with awe-inspiring visuals.

Do not be fooled by the grayness of the Swedish rural peninsula, draped in snow like an arctic village.  The outdoor shots establish a beautiful view, which is not to be ignored – For it exposes the connections between the characters, which are combined with a spider web of horror, love and distasteful Nazism.

The plot centers around a mysterious supposed death of a 16 years old girl called Harriet. As the plot unfolds, the viewers get to know a large number of characters, which are all connected in some dazzling way or another. You can view videos of Lexus RX 450H here.

Investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist is being hired by wealthy businessman Henrik Wanger to found out the circumstances of Harriet’s supposed kidnapping and murder. Blomkvist has just lost a libel suit which has been filed against him by Wennerstrom, a corrupt politician which Blomkvist tried to expose.

In a surprising turn of events, Blomkvist is being aided by Lisbeth Salander, a teenage hacker with extraordinary abilities. Lisbeth shows Blomkvist that despite her young age and fragile looks, she is more than capable of performing the task which she is handled. You can learn about musclebodybuilding diet here.

The movie progresses at an extremely fast pace, which could cause some hardships for amateur film viewers. I won’t be surprised of many viewers have found themselves Googling the movie, trying to connect pieces of the puzzle which have not been fully understood.

However, that being said, the movie is anything but a David Lynch style cinematic maze. The plot moves at a linear and chronoligical order, and is sure to keep the viewers in their seats,  waiting breathlessly for the next twist. 

The acting is absolutely phenomenal. Daniel Craig continues to establish himself as one of the world’s leading actors – Both in acting ability and in audience appeal. Actress Rooney Mara proves she is a wonderful actress herself, as she almost steals the show with a mix of hidden and yet very exposed sexuality, thought-inspiring beauty and a very believable Swedish accent.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is highly recommended to any film lover. It’s an absolutely wonderful movie, which climaxes with a surprising turn of events. Don’t be surprised if it steals the show in the next Oscars!
