Best one-liner: “This never happened to the other fellow” (On her Majesty’s Secret Service)
This witticism uttered by one-time Bond George Lazenby was really the humorous highlight out of the numerous one-liners spouted during the series. Not only an amusing jab at the series having a new Bond actor every few years but a nice illustration of the perceptive humour that the series prides itself on beneath all the throwaway wisecracks.
Worst one-liner: Every attempt at humour from Bond in Die Another Day
Perhaps it seems like a lazy evasion but the overabundance of crass quips in this film cannot be separated in terms of witlessness and lameness as the worst-written Bond film sees the king of suaveness denigrated to Austin Powers-like humour. Each one-liner here either being an eye-rolling pun or stupidly sleazy remark, that never happened to any of the other fellows.
The series will return in….Best and worst theme song.
