The new Sony BDP-S186 is a Blu-ray with an original aspect and different. Its curved shape vaguely reminiscent of the PS3, and brushed aluminum finish that will stand out from the rest of our team of audio/video. In the front the BDP-S186 has a disc tray to insert and USB port, while at the top just find a Fine Line with control buttons.
The BDP-S186 is compatible of course with DVDs and CDs, and can increase the resolution of the video signals up to close to 1080p quality. Do not read content in 3D but, yes, recognizes the most common file formats such as Xvid, MPEG, MP3, WMA, JPEG and GIF among others. Also, through the front USB port can also read all of these types of files using a memory stick or external hard drive.

As for audio features, the Sony BDP-S186 includes high definition audio codecs like Dolby True HD and DTS-HD. It also features an Ethernet connection with which we can access the Internet and watch YouTube videos or other content on demand on our TV screen. The entire system is managed from a simple menu based screen icons.
Other interesting features are also the slide show mode with music, the internal memory of 1 GB or the option Cinema Tuned with different image settings such as cinema, bright room or standard, movie or anime.
Finally, and level of connections, the BDP-S186 incorporates an HDMI output, composite video output, audio output coaxial digital, two analog audio outputs, Ethernet port and the USB jack on front panel. The Sony BDP-S186 is now available at a price of 120 euros.
