Shanghai Noon Movie Review
A review of the movie starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.
Synopsis: A member of China’s imperial guard partners up with an old-west cowboy in an effort to rescue a kidnapped Chinese princess.
Whos in it? Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.
What I liked about this movie: I think there are two things I really like about this film. The first is the action. Jackie Chan is at his best with some pretty cool fight scenes and Owen Wilson even manages to throw in some of his own mojo too.
The other thing I like about this film is it is truly funny. I’ve seen plenty of other movies like this that managed the action pretty well but the jokes weren’t overly entertaining. This has a good mix of physical and smart comedy that you just don’t see too often.
What I didn’t like about this movie: Has anyone else ever noticed all of Owen Wilson’s characters are pretty much the same, at least when it comes to light-hearted movies like this one? Of course, to be fair, the same thing could pretty much be said about Chan too.
Final Opinion: This is actually a pretty good pairing and, as a result of that, the movie is very entertaining. I recommend watching it if you haven’t seen it before.
My Grade: 4 stars out of a possible 5.
