Review of WSU (Women Uncensored Wrestling) Dvd- Raining Misery 10/3/09

This is my first review of WSU (Women Superstars Uncensored) This review is of the most recent show put on by WSU.  I am going to go backwards in my reviews.  I don’t have any reason for this but this dvd was top of the pile I have to review.  I am sorry if this upsets anyone.  I hope you enjoy my work.  
 
WSU has done it again.  The quality of the backstage promos look great.  I really liked the commentary.  It started out quick and the guys do a great job.  The 1st match is Sassy Stephanie vs. Cindy Rogers.  Stephanie is a great little ball of energy.  The match started out with a lot of submission holds.  It is almost like the girls are testing each other out.  Despite the girls wrestling each other Sassy Stephanie definitely respects Cindy.  She claps for her a number of times during the match after pulling out of submission holds.  Not many power moves to start.  Stephanie definitely matches Cindy Rogers.  The test of strength in the middle seems to be the changing point in the match.  Cindy overpowers Stephanie and it is reversed in the end by a monkey flip.  This match seems to be a bit slow.  I’m sure live it moved a lot quicker.  I’m not one for a lot of submission holds but both girls definitely hold there own and are fun to watch.  Stephanie pulls out a very nice X-Factor and it looked like she was gonna win but Cindy quickly gives a dragon hold and wins the match.

The 2nd match is Alicia and Becky Bayless w/ Missy Hyatt vs. Brittany Savage and Rick Cataldo.  Becky and Alicia are definitely ready to kick some ass.  Alicia takes the mic and rips Brittany Savage apart.  Rick Cataldo comes out with a mirror.  The crowd is not into it.  Eric Cartman chants fill the air.  Alicia starts the match with Rick putting him into a headlock and throwing him to the ground.  The match moves quick and the wrestlers definitely hate each other.  Brittany Savage and Rick Cataldo have the upper hand for most of the match.  The commentators as well as the whole arena have no love for Savage or Caltaldo.  Alicia and Brittany take the match out of the ring,  throwing each other into chairs as well as a fans lap and takes him out.  Alicia gets Rick back into the ring and gets the win for her team by a big boot to Ricks mush.

3rd match Amber O’Neal vs. Malia Hosaka Amber is undefeated so far 3-0.  She is confident and ready for action.  Malia is ready to fight as well and wants to end Ambers streak.  Malia wants amber in the ring but Amber would rather hide outside behind fans.  Literally.  Amber is pretty forceful against Malia and throws in insults every time she can.   So far this is the best match of the dvd.  Both girls are definitely fun and exciting to watch the whole match.  Amber O’neal puts Malia in a backslide and wins the match and becomes 4-0.

4th match of the evening is for the WSU Spirit Championship.  Jana vs. Latasha vs. Lea Morrison.  Jana enters first.  I love her theme it’s a rap version of Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight.  Lea bounces to the ring next. Current Spirit champ Latasha comes 3rd determined to keep the belt around her waist when she leaves the ring.  This ring is back and forth the whole time. Each girl is in the ring then out of the ring.  A lot of movement.  The end of the match Jana ends up winning the match and taking the Spirit Belt by giving Lea a wicked spine buster. Lea is definitely knocked out and I was very surprised by the end of this match. Lea is legitimately hurt and has to be carried out.  

5th match is the # 1 contenders match for the WSU championship.  Rain comes to the ring first with her hired goons Haley Hatred and Jessica Havoc.  Rain is very determined and looks very confident with her girls to back her up.  Portia Perez comes to the ring and looks ever more confident and fired up.  Especially when HER  backup shows up.  Mercedes Martiniz and Angel Orsini attack Havoc and Hatred and throw them into the back.  The one thing I noticed is that the entrances seems a bit long. The girls take a bit too long to get out from the curtain.  Rain and Portia are both great wrestlers.  I could watch Portia wrestle all day.  This match in my opinion was the best match on the dvd.  Rain wins the match with the rain drop and becomes the number 1 contender for Mercedes Martinez’s belt.  

6th and final match of the night was a tag match for the WSU tag team belts.  Jessick Havoc and Haley Hatred vs. Mercedes Martinez and Angel Orsini.  This match was a brutal match. Havoc and Hatred came to the ring looking great.  They look like they don’t have a doubt in there mind they will lose.  Martinex and Orsini both come to the ring looking a bit banged up but still confident.  This was a great match as well.  The match goes all over the arena.  The ref gets knocked out toward the end and Rain comes in at the end and nails Mercedez with a chair and beats the living hell out of Martinez. Mercedes is very hurt.  The match is announced as a no contest.

Overall I liked this dvd a lot.  I like the Ace Arena as a venue and I thought the matches were great.  I always enjoy watching WSU and would definitely recommend there dvds to any women’s wrestling fan.
