Real Time: Two Thumbs UP
Low budget, simple plot movie succeeds on all levels.
The year 2008 wasn’t a spectacular year for movies. There were some sleepers out there that are definitely worth the watch though and Real Time is one of them.
Randy Quaid puts on a good performance and as the title states this movie takes place in real time. I hope you will give this movie a chance after reading it as it is a movie about the ups and downs of life and about life. You are there for the last 75 minutes or so of Andy’s life. He is in debt over his head and is given just over an hour to live by the mobster assigned to kill him. Within this hour that is in real time he is given the chance to do and to see anyone that he wants.
This movie is not a comedy. There are some funny party, especially at the beginning, but you won’t be crying or pissing your pants with laughter. There are a few boring parts in the long car rides, but get through it and you’ll be happy that you did.
The story is simple and in an age where each movie is trying to outdue the next with a bigger bang and more special effects, simple wins this time.
Enjoy!
