My First Ten Recommended Movies to Watch at Home
Here is a list of my first ten recommended movies that you may miss in the cinema. Give them a try to watch at home, alone or with others, and enjoy.
Not many people can be a theatre-goer. We often rely on the DVD or Blu-ray player to watch many good movies that we missed from the cinema for whatever reasons, e.g. not yet born, lack of time and money at the moment of release. Watch alone or with others, we have to decide on what movies to play. This article suggests a list of ten good movies – remarkable and durable to watch. I will continue the list in a few more articles, so this one is titled as “My First Ten”. The list is in alphabetical order. All photos come from IMDb.
1. Alien (1979)

We all know that Earth is one of the planets. It is too early to tell if all animals and plants here are the only living things existed. Extra-terrestrial often burns our curiosity. Though Alien this horror and Sci-Fi film has several sequels, the first movie has a good layout that offers the strongest thrilling impression. The plot goes on with tension keeps building. It is until the end that audiences know what the terrible alien exactly looks like.
2. Home Alone (1990)

Child or adult, there is the opportunity to be home alone. Like it or not, we have to cope with the loneliness and it is always comforting to meet someone at the same match. Kevin is the protagonist and he is so extraordinary lovable that you won’t mind watching him throughout.
3. Jurassic Park (1993)

Want to see animals at home? There are many choices, but the most exciting adventure will be watching the extinct dinosaurs come back to life. That’s why Jurassic Park continues to be entertaining even so many years passed.
4. Phantom of the Opera (2004)

It will be embarrassing to doze off during an opera. If you are not sure whether this will happen or not, play safe and enjoy one at home. This film falls on several categories namely drama, musical and romance. View it as an entry-level to opera.
5. Saving Private Ryan (1998)

Some people took part in a war. Others have never experienced one in their lifetime. Films bridge this gap and present everyone the moments in a war. Saving Private Ryan is not the only war movie, but it definitely has the most stunning opening. It may lead you think about the war issue that is still entangling humans.
6. The Superman (1978)

There are many heroes in movies – Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America for examples. Forgive me if I miss your favorites. Even for Superman, there are four movies. Why do I choose the oldest one? It tells not only where Superman comes from, but also shows the human and supernatural sides simultaneously. See how Superman tries to save Lois from death by spinning the earth to turn time back.
7. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

Many years passed, audiences still find the chase of the deadly terminator from the future thrilling. The movie is balanced well with the actions of the protector, offering adequate encouragement in the times of danger, fear and strong stimulus.
8. The Omen (1976)
A remake of this movie is available in 2006. However, I will say the original version in 1976 looks more natural and so each death is more dreadful. The simplicity conveys the directness of the evil incarnate, no bargains available. Hence, the movie is more powerful in sense of horror.
9. Up (2009)

Some people don’t give anime the top priority, so this movie has a higher opportunity of not being watched yet, especially the protagonist is an elder. Up covers a universal issue – how an elder undergoes pain from great loss and starts a new life. Give this animated film a try to experience the human touch that may make you feel good and want to watch it over and over again.
10. Wall-E (2008)

Same as Up, Wall-E may not be watched. This time we will have some romance between two robots. There is no need to compare whether the man and the woman are handsome or beautiful enough. Appearance, this often overrated factor in life has been concealed fully. True romance lies on what a heart can sincerely offer and accept.
Hope you enjoy my first ten recommended movies. Welcome to seat with others to give them a try or watch them over and over again. Don’t feel angry if your favorites have not been mentioned yet. I will continue recommending good movies with more different genres and themes. If you would like to recommend your favorites, please feel free to leave a message for sharing. Enjoy watching movies at home.
