How important is Internet to your life?
Internet is the best invention of human race. I cannot imagine my life without internet!! With the help of internet I can learn new things, find the answer to every problem, connect with people all over the world, pay bills, earn money through rendering my services to other people, raise awareness on important issues, lodge a complaint against a multinational business, read books, watch movies, listen to music, even bring down governments and spark a revolution (like it recently happened in middle east countries) Hence the internet is a very important part of my life, which is indispensable to me.
How to eradicate Unemployment from India?
The First requirement for unemployment to fall is obviously education. The standards of education in government schools must be raised. Also, teachers should be paid more money so there are better teachers in school and college. Also people should be encouraged (but not forced) to go into job oriented fields like finance, management, engineering, medical, law and business. Women especially should work and be financially independent. Poor children should be given scholarships; right to education should be a fundamental right not only in theory but also in practice. What am I doing about this? I will donate money online to CRY which is an organisation which works for children and their education. I encourage you to do the same.
Which social networking sites do you like the most?
Out of these social networks, I like Facebook the most. It is the most popular social network. Also I admire Mark Zuckerberg a lot. Before Facebook there were social networks like Myspace and Friendster but now these are either bankrupt or have very few members. Linkedin is also fun but it’s for professional contacts. Yahooplus and Google plus I don’t like since they are very new and confusing. Twitter is best left to celebrities and fans, its not of much use to common people. I am a member of Zurker, they claim you can earn money by joining it but I did not find it useful to me. Pinterest too is not very engaging.
Do you live life without any cares or do you worry about the future?
I would say both philosophies are valid. Personally speaking, I live my life day by day. I take each day as it comes. But at the same time, I work hard to ensure I have enough money for a rainy day. One should be shrewd enough to ensure one’s financial independence. If that is all right, then one should enjoy life and not worry about the future too much. Live every day of your life like it’s your last because you never know…but have enough money saved for the future.
Who is your Role Model in life?
My Role Model is Mark Zuckerberg. When I saw the movie The Social Network and read his interviews I did not think much of him. He was just another techie turned billionaire. Like Bill Gates. But recently I saw an interview of him on youtube. I was amazed at how simple and down to earth this guy is! He is the youngest billionaire in the world. Yet he sleeps on a mattress and lives in a rented home. He still has the same Chinese- American girlfriend he had before Facebook. He is not very concerned with money, more with making people more connected and social.
Do you think Mayan calendar prophecies for 2012 will come true?
The Mayan Calendar predicts that on December 21, 2012, the world will end. It says that the world has been destroyed and recreated 6 times and this time it will happen in December 2012. I do not believe that all life on earth will be wiped off however I do believe that there will be some disturbance like tsunamis or earthquakes. Also the earth is going to be in line with a black hole which has been admitted by scientists. The previous Mayan prophecies have come true so we cannot ignore this one.
