Movies: For Better or For Worse
Have you noticed the quality and story of movies declining recently? Or do you think it’s getting better?
For one I don’t really know about who acts in what movie or whatever. To me it’s more important who the character is in the movie, than who’s acting that character. You can clearly tell whether or not the character is acted right or not despite who acts out the character. Therefore, I don’t concern myself with actors names or such. That said, I’m not completely ignorant; guys such as Tom Cruise, Robin Williams, Hugh Lorrie, and Sean Bean I recognize.
Now onto the topic: Have you noticed the quality and story of movies declining recently? Or do you think it’s getting better? Personally I think that most ‘real-life’ drama and action films are declining in quality, as if the talent pool or something is stagnating. I find more and more that I’m going to theatres to watch movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Igor, Bolt, and Monsters vs Aliens becuase they have better storylines, and seem much fresher.
Nowadays it seems like book movies are the new thing. You had Harry Potter, The DaVinci Code, and now Twilight. Which is great, but what about something new, something original? Seemingly the only original films coming out now are animated. Fine, but I hope they start getting some new directors, actors, and producers to inject some new talent into the movie making business.
Afterall, it’s not like there is a lack in young filmakers
