Probably the two best actors that ever lived are Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.
I f enjoyed watching them together in the movie Heat. Where De Niro plays the villain and Pacino plays the detective trying to catch him.
The Young Pacino found himself in the Academy Award winning films the GF and the GFII. These films made him a popular actor. He also appeared in GFIII, but this film was not as successful as the first two films. Pacino appeared in the GF trilogy.
Al Pacino made so many memorable appearances that you would figure he would have won an Academy Award some time before “Scent of a Woman,” where he finally did win the Academy Award for best actor.
Robert De Niro made an appearance in GFII as the young don. There was some backtracking in this film and you could say that the idea of a prequel already existed in the 1970s if you look at Film Studies.
Robert De Niroalso also made a memorable appearance in Martin Scorsese’s film GoodFellas as did Joe Pesci.
Joe Pesci also made a memorable appearance in the Martin Scorsese’s film Casino, which could be said to have been not as Good as Goodfellas, but still was one the best films ever made. Both films were about the Gangster life.
Shawshank Redemption was one of best films ever made and it starred Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. It was about prison life and a prison break. Tim Robbins a former banker found himself laundering money for the Warden of the prison, and meanwhile found himself tunneling through his jail cell wall with a small hammer trying to escape. He used a poster of some famous actress to cover the hole in his jail cell wall.
At the end of Shawshank Redemption Tim Robbins character Andy Dufresne finds himself with the Warden’s money and left the Warden headed straight towards prison for true crimes. The Warden ended up taking his life. You will actually have to see the movie to see how this ended up happening.
Shawshank Redemption was one of the best movies ever made, but it did not win an Academy Award because there was another great movie that came out that year called ”Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks who also won an Academy Award for best actor.
Forrest Gump was a simple man who accidentally wandered through some of the most interesting, most incredible moments in history.
Yet another great movie that came out that was Pulp Fiction. This is also one of the best movies ever made. There were three segments played out of sequence, but you were able to puzzle them in at the end. This movie was about the Gangster life and then some.
1994 was an incredible year for movies. Another Good movie that came out that year that could have easily won the Academy Award for best picture was Quiz Show.
The GF could be said to be the best movie ever made, and it is also about Gangster life and crime factions, the mafia.
1972 was also an incredible year for movies where GF was promoted as being the year’s Top 10 Best when in actuality it was probably the best movie ever made.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could all share in awards and prizes?
