War Horse is about a boy named Albert Narracott and his horse Joey that his father bought at an auction. Due to the fact that the army needs horses, Joey is taken away and Albert tries to get the horse back.
This is a good movie, it’s not a “happy” movie, it’s a very intense and heavy movie, but it’s very well done.
The actors are good and they did a great job with this movie, considering how heavy the atmosphere and theme of this movie is. Jeremy Irvine is excellent as Albert Narracott and he puts a lot of feeling into his performance. Emily Watson is good as his mother, Rose Narracott. Another good performance is Peter Mullan as his dad, Ted Narracott. There are many others in the cast, but some of them aren’t in the movie for too long, so I won’t go into them.
The visual effects of the movie are very well done and the fighting scenes are very emotional and not exciting in the way that an action flick is made, but it’s more about the characters and what they’re going through and not that they’re just shooting people. The visual effects for some of the things for the horses were good too, but if I told you what it was, it’d be a spoiler.
The music by John Williams is very well done and I like his work a lot. The music is very nice and fits the mood of the scenes.
I do recommend War Horse to anyone who thinks that this is something that sounds interesting to them. I did enjoy this movie, but I probably won’t buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray. It’s not that the movie is bad, but it’s just not one that I feel I have to buy. It’s worth going to the movie theater or renting, but you’ll have to decide if you want this in your collection of movies.
