Movie Review: Disney Channel’s “Princess Protection Program”
Here’s my review on the Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program”.
Disney Channel Original Movie Princess Protection Program was aired on June 26, 2009, 8et/7c. The movie starred Disney stars Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place), and Demi Lovato (Sonny With A Chance).
Louisiana girl Carter’s (Selena Gomez) father worked for a secret organization called the PPP, or the Princess Protection Program. When Princess Rosie (Demi Lovato) is only days away from her coronation to the thrown, the kingdom is over ruled, and the general is after Rosie and kept her mother hostage. Rosie is sent to Louisiana to live with Carter and her father and must live like a normal teenager in order to keep her mother safe.
During the stay in Louisiana, Carter learns about what being a princess is really about, behind the crowns and dresses and power, while Rosie learns about friendship, and how to live in the real world behind her royal life.
I watched the movie, and I must say, for a Disney Channel movie, it was all right. It wasn’t as great as Camp Rock (also starred Demi Lovato) or High School Musical (which I’m so totally sick of!), but it had a good moral to it and a great story line. The only thing that bugged me was it was more targeted for younger views, not as much older teens like me. But other than that, not bad, but now worth 5 stars.
So, my rating for the movie Princess Protection Program, are a pretty good 4 stars.
