Lg Unveils The Sleek Lw9800 at Cedia 2011

LG’s new monitor is loaded with amazing features.

LG unveils the sleek LW9800 at CEDIA 2011

LG made a surprising reveal at the opening of CEDIA 2011 that caught everyone off guard. LG revealed their new 55-inch 3D HDTV, named the LG LW9800. This monitor is a gargantuan, but a very beautiful sight for sore eyes. LG claims the new monitor sets the record for the highest contrast ratio, set at 10,000,000:1. The stunning picture is all thanks to the NANO LED technology which distributes light more evenly across the screen delivering a crisp, breathtaking image.
No need to worry about the frame-rate dropping, seeing as the TV comes with TruMotion 400Hz built-in to guarantee that your movie viewing will never be interrupted. The monitor comes loaded with LG’s Smart TV online package, which includes(but hopefully not limited to) Hulu Plus and Amazon Instant Video. Also, 3D Video-On-Demand is available through LG App’s to ensure the good times keep on rolling. If that weren’t enough for your tastes, LG proudly points out that the LW9800 is the first 3D HDTV to earn THX Certification. The set had to pass a total of 400 different tests dealing with color temperature and luminance to obtain 2D and 3D certification.

The new monitor comes in two sizes, the 55-inch and the 47-inch, both including the same package for a minor price difference. The package also comes with 4 pairs of 3D glasses in the box, as well as a remote control. Don’t expect this awesome set to come at a cheap price though, the monitor sells for $3,799 plus tax. As for good news, the LW9800 is available now at a retail store near you. Definitely stay updated on CEDIA, because you can definitely expect other manufacturers such as Sony and Samsung to release products very soon.
