Lethal Weapon, The True Classic

Lethal Weapon is basically action comedy and thriller oriented film released in 1987 starring  and Danny Glover in the main role as detectives. In the film, despite their differences, they co-operate each other in their works as detectives. The film is a class of act and certainly helped redefine action movies for the years to come after the release. One of the good things noticed in the film is that the movie does not lose its pace anywhere beginning to the end, the jokes and the stunts did not disappoint the people out there.

                The Lethal Weapon movie was completed within months, starting in August 6 1986 and ending in mid November. It was No. 1 in the charts for three weeks and snatched near about $120 million and nominated for the Academy Award for Sound. It influenced a whole lot of buddy cop films and was the Classic of the 90’s.

                 Lethal Weapon 1 is the first of the sequels of the movie that stretched long after that. Directed by Richard Donner who also directed the Superman series, the film is one of the first American films to feature buddy action film franchise. Here the two play the role of Martin and Martaugh who are detectives and the entire film is about the recovery of Riggs and how Martgaugh and his family support Riggs to rebuild himself up.

                Danny Glover as Roger Martgaugh made an equal justice to his character. He stood up to the challenge of playing a character which involves relationship and humor with the family and his buddy Gibson as Riggs. On the other hand Gibson as Riggs plays the role of a person whose life has been shattered and who has nothing to gain from life. Even in the end of the film, offering the unshot bullet to Martgaugh which he thought of committing suicide with, depicts the role as an serious, intense and distressed character who has nothing to do with his own life anymore.

                  This film is really a classic and will live in the hearts of people ever. A film in the buddy fil industry, which made its place ever with its series of films till today, only a superhit could have done like that. Over the years, it has matured to more promising films in the industry.
