John Arthur Carradine

A great actor is no more.

He was born John Arthur Carradine. He was the son of noted actor John Carradine. We all know him as David Carradine, who is best known for the 70’s show Kung Fu and as Bill in Kill Bill. I have seen him in other things, but to me those are his best roles. He died 3 June 2009 in Bangkok at the age of 72.

Back in the 70’s Kung Fu was a family favorite. Even if my sister and I were grounded from the TV, we still got to sit down with daddy to watch certain shows. Kung Fu was one of them. My father a preacher liked the show because it had some good action and it helped teach life lessons.

I have always liked watching David Carradine. He had a nack for taking on a not so well written part and made it better. Sadly he didn’t get the recognition I believed he deserved until Quentin Tarantino had him do Kill Bill. I know that David has done Broadway and theater, but I never got to see any of that. I wish I had.

But now he is gone. The manner of which I do not understand. I’m still waiting for more information before I make conclusions. But it is hard for me to believe that he took his own life. But then I must remind myself, I do not know what was going through his mind.

I know I will miss him.

Nice article. The way he died was kinda controversial, probably a good thing you wrote this before the truth came out. Still, he was a great actor and has definitely left a void. . .
