Have You Ever Had Two Lovers: 2008, James Gray?

Joaquin Phoenix takes centre stage as an under motivated man in his thirties, living at home with his parents, who life is about to take a significant turn as far as affairs of the heart are concerned.

Joaquin Phoenix is in good form in James Gray’s human drama as an immature and suicidal Jewish 30-something New Yorker who, following the painful break-up of a long-term relationship, is unable to see where his future lies as he wallows in self-pity. He is an aspiring but lazy artist, living at home with parents and working in the family business, who seems to have no ambition or zest for life.
