Happy Hearts: A Movie Review

A movie that promotes advocacy of the homosexuals.

A movie that is made for advocacy of homosexuals under Regal Entertainment and directed by the one of the reputable directors, Joel Lamangan. The prime lead actors and actresses are: Rustom Padilla, Wendell Ramos, Jean Garcia, Tirso Cruz III, Giselle Sanchez, Shaina Magdayao, and Rayver Cruz. 

Synopsis: 

Two gay partners, Enrico and Louie, love each other. Enrico is a professor in Philosophy in a prestigious and exclusive boys school. On the other hand, Louie is a stand up comedian. When Enrico’s son and ex-wife returned from San Francisco, USA, Enrico was very worried about his homosexual identity and how long he will keep his secret to his beloved son, Alvin. 

Enrico’s son, Alvin has a doubt that he is a gay. In fact, he is acting like a young sleuth. Then, he met a beautiful and carefree girl named Kristine. She is the daughter of the boss of Enrico. She hates following the house rules. She doesn’t like to become traditional and conservative like her father. 

Sarah, Alvin’s mom, on the other hand, was divorced in San Francisco, USA. Then, she went to the Philippines for her fiance. Then, she discovered that her fiance has a legal wife, her heart was broken. 

The dilemma begins when Kristine was caught in breaking the house rules. And, she broke-up with her conservative boyfriend because she has found interest with Alvin. Her father is not approved of their relationship because he thought Alvin has a bad influence on her. Her father also discovered that Enrico is a homosexual so the issue of morality started. 

Alvin found out later that his father is a homosexual. But, he is even love his father more. He is proud that Enrico is his father because he is loving and caring. Then, Enrico finally accepted that truth that he is a gay, and he is no longer confused with his identity or listening to the norms of the society. He is happy because he is supported by his love ones. 

Conclusion:

This is the modern twist of Romeo and Juliet with the emphasis of the issues of homosexuality. The movie is entitled Happy Hearts because all the characters in this story are happy and celebrated their lives with thanksgiving in the finale. All of them use their free will to make their own decision to have a better life.
