Going The Distance: Movie Review

To critique this movie is not difficult at all. Finding the correct words to place in the review of "Going the distance" is.

Drew Barrymore is the star performer along with her real life boyfriend/lover/friend Justin Long.    Justin gets dumped by his girlfriend for being such a jerk, so he steps out to play at an arcade to think things over or something.  That should have been a dead giveaway for me to leave.

Justin meets Drew and they hit it off romantically without too many words spoken between them.  I would not ever consider this a romantic movie, except that is what it is listed as, along with comedy.

The movie never got a real start and the improper, foul language flowed like water out of the faucet.  If I had not been with 3 other people, I would have walked out at the 2 nd flip of the “F” word.  It was laced throughout the entire flick even where it had no need to be said.

Drew has some talent, however never revealed it in this comedy, romantic flick.  Justin shows promise, but he could learn a lot more before I would go to another movie with him co-staring.

Surprised that Christina Applegate took such a role with a flat movie.  She is a great actress, however there is not much from her in this one to show her talent.  The story, or the attempt of the long distance relationship did not have any depth to it.  Whoever wrote the script, I won’t be looking that up for you, never had the long distance experience and did little homework to create this dud.

Out of 10 stars I looked to see what others gave this and it was a 6 star.  I will be licking 3 stars to paste on this poorly scripted, slow moving, boring and never taking flight kind of movie. Gasp, I nearly said 2.  Save your money and go for a good pizza and avoid this movie.

Yes, it happens, we are not supposed to agree in taste and color, or opinion. There is no last saying on that so far. Great movie review.

I really enjoyed your review of Going The Distance. I noticed from the trailer that it didn’t really look like it was much of a plot. It is something that we have all seen before. I doubt I am going to watch it. Thanks for the warning.

I think Christina Applegate is absolutely gorgeous and would watch her anytime, but I can wait till this gets to the library and goes out for free. Good movie review, Goody, we need more people to blow the whistle on crappy movies.
