Ghost Rider 2012 Review

Ghost Rider is the sequel to the 2007 Ghost Rider Movie.

Introduction

I was excited when the Ghost Rider sequel was announced.  It was suppose to start on Friday, Feb 17 but was surprised when the movie actually started the day before.

Even though the first movie had bad reviews, I still enjoyed it so I thought how bad could the sequel be.

The movie hall was only one third filled but this is probably because it was too early for most people.

Story

The story line was not too bad, with the Ghost Rider asked to prevent the devil from getting a new body.  His (the Devil) existing body was dying and he needed one from a half human.  This time he had two partners, one was the priest who was a pretty good fighter and the other one was the mother of the child (the son of the Devil).

The girl had the child because of her deal with the devil and the devil wanted the child in order to take over the body.

Critic

The jacket from the first movie was much better.  The new jacket just didn’t really fit.    I didn’t like his new bike.  The bike from the first movie looked much better.

This time, the Ghost Rider didn’t seem as intense, in many of the scenes, he just stood there as if listening to a slow music.  The movie was trying too hard to portray the Ghost Rider as an angel who is become crazy.

In many of the fight scenes, the characters appear to be transported to another dimension.  This works well in the comics but is just irritating in the movie.

Finally, the movie decided that Zarathos is not a demon at all but an angel sent to protect Earth but became crazy.

I fancied seeing this, but my local cinema is only showing it in 3D and I don’t like that. Shame.
