I watched the behind the scenes of the film ‘Only You’ with Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei on the weekend and I loved a line Robert Downey Jr. said about ‘destiny’ (the film plot is about Destiny).

How to Create Your Own Destiny

Downey Jr. said he believes we ‘make our own destiny by following our joy’. I agree Robert!

So often we wish our lives were better – a loving relationship, our dream job, a better lifestyle, more money, etc. But SO much of the creating your dream life is about taking action on those dreams and aspirations.

Knowing When To Act on Your Dreams

Take action whenever you feel those little ‘pulls’ of ‘joy’.

If something feels good, ACT. If you feel a ‘pull’ towards someone, some job, some thing, ACT. Take lots of little steps towards your dreams.

I know with my husband when I first met him, there was something about him that just made me go ‘mmm there is something about this guy’. And so I acted. I asked him out on a date (have never ever done that before in my life). Well lucky I did because long story short (and yes there was a journey involved) I am now married to him and we have two gorgeous children. And if I never actively pursued a relationship with him, I would not be with him today or have the life I have today.

Joyful Steps Towards Your Dream Life

Don’t worry about the action you haven’t taken in your life thus far (living in regret), just focus on what you would like for the future – this year, next year and beyond and then ACT.

Whenever you feel ‘joy’, take steps, for that joy will truly lead you to your destiny.
