Daniel Matsunaga, Fabio Ide and Akihiro Sato: The Brapanese Invasion
It was long ago when deceased beauty Theresa Carlson invaded Philippine movie Industry in the 80’s followed by Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, sexy actress Victoria Fidler and Miss Australia Michelle Van Eimeren in the 90’s. Today, Hunky model-actors seemed giving Filipino audience a chunky, muscle-full and unusual variety of talent from the other part of the globe, a combination of two nationality- Japanese and Brazilian.
Akihiro Sato was a dream to every woman. His Chinito looks combined with charisma and appeal first noticed by i-net lovers more than three years ago on different fashion style magazines all over Asia. He was totally hot, deserving to be tagged as the Adonis of the new millennium.
From being a certified and number one male model in most of the Asian countries particularly in Thailand, Akihiro got a chance to do commercial product endorsements in the Philippines such as in the country’s leading coffee brand and toothpaste.
His charm never hides the eyes of local TV executives and managements, thus had him landed a spot in the hit show “Celebrity Duets” in 2008 and had lasted in the final three. Following his successful TV show debut, Aki, as everybody calls him, got to do number of shows as follow-up which include “Moshi, Moshi” with sexy-siren Ruffa Mae Quinto, “Panday Kids” opposite Jolina Magdangal and his latest, an another reality show, “Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Challenge”.
While doing his best to learn tagalong which he really needs to last a lifetime showbiz career, Akihiro still had himself available for a number of stints as model in other Asian countries while his schedule permits him to.
Daniel Matsunaga was way unknown to others when he first landed his foot a year ago. He was just known as Aki’s buddy and a companion. Upon landed as one of the hottest bachelor in town in the list of Cosmopolitan magazine last year along with Aki, Daniel became a household name.
His mestizo looks has a strong resemblance to a Greek-God like feature somewhat different from a native Filipino which made him well-loved for that attribute.
He did various commercials which include one from an international toothpaste brand and others had him as leading man to the country’s beautiful female commercial models that include young actress KC Concepcion in toothpaste commercial.
Soon after, Daniel made his first TV show as the other guy to local talents Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica in their hit telefantasia, “The Last Prince”. GMA-7 executives saw a future gem in him which maybe the reason why they had him casted in another Kris Bernal starrer in “Love Bug” shot entirely in Singapore. But the meatiest role has yet to come to Daniel until he shared the limelight with well-known actress Heart Evangelista and played a pilot in the hit series, “Langit Sa Piling Mo”.
Daniel didn’t just landed a best role ever in that show but a beautiful girlfriend in Heart. Recently, the hunky actor and his girlfriend did a short vacation in Japan with the actor’s younger sister.
Fabio Ide had been to the Philippines five years ago, much earlier than Aki and Daniel’s first landing of foot on Philippine soil. He had able to travel the world including the Philippines that had him met his filipina beauty-queen girlfriend Lia Andrea Ramos in his modeling stints in the country. While travelling for years around the world, more particularly in Asia, Fabio felt that he has to concentrate more on a certain career and live within a chosen he believes could have him deliver his talent aside from modeling.
When he met Akihiro for another chance, the latter had advised Fabio that Philippine entertainment has a good opportunity for international models like them who choose to land an acting career. Fabio tried his luck and entered showbiz earlier this year which had him able to do two films, a blockbuster romantic comedy with real-life sweethearts Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes and the indie comedy “D’ Survivors” which he starred in together with fellow Brazilian-Japanese model-friends Akihiro Sato and Daniel Matsunaga.
Today, Fabio is very busy with his two regular TV shows, “Comedy Bar” opposite Comedy Actress Eugene Domingo and Allan K which airs every Saturday night and “Ang Yaman ni Lola” showing everyday in GMA-7.
