The first evening of the festival started with the latest film of the famous American filmmaker Woody Allen romantic comedy “Midnight in Paris”, starring France’s first lady, Carla Bruni Sarkozy.

De Niro even struggled to speak French when he presented the gala inaugural address, was applauded by those in the hall, even if French was not perfect. 

At Cannes, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas celebrates 15 years of marriage, and Melanie accompanied the husband to the premiere “Puss In Boots.”

Like every year, the “red carpet” world cinema beauties walked, some of them capturing the attention of photographers.

Rachel McAdams was one of the most popular appearances in a Marchesa dress, accessorized with Bulgari jewels and shoes, Casadei.

This year’s edition of the festival, the 64th in history, will end on May 22 the French film “Les Bien-Aimes” with Catherine Deneuve in the lead role.

Romania at Cannes 2011
