Boston’s 7th Annual Independent Film Festival
A short press release explaining the Film Festival in Boston.
April 22-28 2009 in Boston, MA the 7th annual Independent Film Festival will be held. Theaters such as the Brattle, Coolidge Corner and Somerville are a few of the hosts that will screen this collection of new and different voices that may not be heard if not for such a venue.
Independent film though more popular these days with the “Indi-lectuals” still contain messages and ideas that cannot be conveyed with the bigger Hollywood films. Shocking subject matter and almost unimaginable situations take place on the screen and then take hold of the watcher leaving him or her with something to consider. Festivals such as the Independent Film Festival in Boston allow for artists young or seasoned to be able to express what larger producers stifle.
Movies such as Barcelona, Velvet Goldmine and Breaking the Waves may never have found there way to being made if not for venues such as the this one. Just a drop in the pot of many more amazing and influential films that were screened, adored and brought into international circulation because of the exposure at independent film festivals. Granted often times it is can like finding a diamond amongst glass, but that can be said about a great many big budget, studio movies that have come to theaters and pass over many years.
So if integrity, art and an eclectic array of visual stories are what is normally considered a must, The 7th Annual Independent Film Festival Boston, MA should be on the top of the list of events to attend. Ticket have gone on sale and are available at Independent Film Festival: 2009.
