Big Screen vs.. Little Screen

Which do you prefer…

Watching a movie in a theater or at home?

Big Screen vs. Little Screen

There are advantages of going to the Movie Theater such as better quality and audio, but also disadvantages such as, distractions from other people and cell phones which then people would rather watch a movie at home.

Have you ever thought why so many people rather watch a movie in theater rather than at home?  In an honest opinion, watching a movie in a theater is a lot more enjoyable than a movie at home. Why? It gives one a sociable experience to go with friends, have fun, and get out of the house.

People love movies, so where is the place to go on a Friday night? Of course, the movie theater. Everyone loves the big sound, food, people, and choice of movies. But wait, what about the cost?  The cost of going to a theater to watch a movie can be outragisly expensive. A theater can charge anywhere from five to twelve dollars to see a movie. Of course seeing the new movie “Breaking Dawn” is a must, but spending twelve dollars a week on a movie can get quite expensive. One might ask, “Why wait on a movie to come out just to watch it?” That’s just it, waiting on a movie to come out on DVD can save one a lot of money. Once the DVD comes out and one has bought it, that person is able to watch it over and over again for one whole price at home.

Watching a movie at home can be fun and inexpensive all in the comfort of your own home. One can have all the popcorn and soda they want without having to spend a fortune at the consession in a theater. The best part about watching a movie at home is no interuptions. In honest opinion cell phones is my biggest pet peeve during a movie, especially in a movie theater. At home is different, the movie can be paused until finished talking on the phone. The down fall of watching a movie at home is the screen quality, sound, and cleanup. One doesn’t get the experience as if going to the movie theater, but there are big screen TV’s and sound systems that can be bought at the local super market.

Is staying at home to watch a movie on a date better than going to the movie theater? In my opinion, it depends on who is going on the date. Is the person a teenager? A Couple? Staying at home to watch a movie on a date gives alone time and privacy where as a movie theater does not. For a teenager going to a theater might help break the ice between each other and it’s a fun experience.

Weather it’s watching a movie at home with family or screaming from a horror movie at the theater, everyone has an opinion on which they prefer. What is my opinion? Watching a horror film in a movie theater has my vote any day.

Like the balanced approach here. I still prefeer the big screen, but do often watch movies at home. Money and time are two influential factors.
