Big 2010 Movie Roles Actors Passed Over
Some of the big movies coming out next year didn’t end up with the actors originally cast for the films. But the question remains, what it a smart decision to leave production?
Here are some of the upcoming movies coming out in 2010, and the cast of actors who were originally planned for the top roles.
Robin Hood
The main character of Robin Hood will be played by famous Aussie Russell Crow.
Cate Blanchett has been cast as Maid Marian. However, the “Dark Knight” Christian Bale was considered for Hood, while Rachel Weisz and Kate Winslet were potentials for Maid Marian.

Wuthering Heights
A classic tale turned into a movie. This could be a blockbuster movie if done right. While Kate Beckinsale was considered for the role of Cathy Linton, it was Juliette Binoche who got the part.
Michael Fassbender, most recently in “Inglorious Bastards”, was originally signed to play Heathcliff. However, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick ended up with the role. Natalie Portman was also signed on to this movie, but later left the project.

Greenberg
This movie starring Ben Stiller is set to release March 2010. What you won’t see is the “Enchanted” Amy Adams, who was the first choice for the lead role.
So what are these actors doing next year?
Amy Adams has two movies that are expected out in 2010, “Leap Year” and “The Fighter” while she’s involved with three other movies in development.
Christian Bale joins Adams in “The Fighter”. In addition, he has future plans of a new Batman movie and a new Terminator movie.
Oscar winner for Best Actress Kate Winslet is rumored to be in an untitled Peter Farrelly/Charles Wessler project along with Hugh Jackman. And it appears she’s also working on a movie called “Mildred Pierce”, currently in development.
It won’t be until these films come out until we can truly know if these actors missed out on a role of a lifetime.
