When a parent’s child is harmed, the parent goes – very rightfully furious For most, there is no length they won’t go to save their child. And if they already lost their child, well the guilty ones really should fear the wrath. Here we go. Best of the parent fury:
LAW ABIDI NG CITIZEN
My favorite Gerard Butler film and one of the best revenge movies. They kill Clyde’s (Butler) wife and little daughter in front of him. Moreover, the DA strikes a deal with one of the two criminals. In order to land a death-row verdict for one, one is sentenced to a funny three-year-sentence or so. What the worst thing is, the actual killer is not the one sentenced to death row.
So for Clyde, killing the murderers is not enough. He curses the justice system that created this awful imbalance. So, he waits for 10 years. Planning everything. Then he turns a relatively peaceful death by injection into a scene from a horror movie. Then he catches the one who got away easy. He tortures him, makes him watch and feel everything and murders him brutally. But none of these will bring his loved ones back, right? Moreover it won’t do anything to the corrupt system that caused this in the first place. So he goes after the opposing council, the prison warden, the judge….It is priceless. Not for the faint of heart, but it is not like you can’t take it. I can’t stomach Tarantino level of violence but this one is OK. So, I might have looked away in one scene. This movie is worth it. Brilliant performance from Butler.
What do you do when your son’s kidnappers don’t make the exchange even after you paid them 2 million dollars? They want money again. It is not a question of whether you can pay. How can Tom Mullen (Mel Gibson) know they will give the boy this time? And he guesses right. They will kill the boy. So Tom takes a risk. So instead of paying the kidnappers, he goes live and announces that he will pay whoever catches the kidnappers. Neat. What a clever way to cause havoc between the bad guys! Mel Gibson does a good job at playing the wronged parent. And it can’t be hard to use a little empathy. He might be a good actor but he does have kids on his own. Great film, wonderful portrayal.
The overzealous and a little crazy paparazzi cause the famous actor to have an accident, putting his child into a coma. You think the paparazzi will get away with a beating? Think again. When a parent thinks you might have killed his son, he is not going to give a crap about his acting career. He will just want you out of the picture.

You think Liam Neeson can’t be an action star in his 50s? Think again. Ex-CIA Bryan Mills’s daughter is kidnapped in France, he realizes he has only about 96 hours to find his daughter. So he goes to France and finds everyone responsible and well, kicks everyone ass and kills everyone who gets in his way. And Liam Neeson has always looked glorious and intimidating, standing at 6’4”. The movie is co-written by Luc Besson. It is smart, fast and thrilling. One of the best revenge movies ever.
