These days most people still go to the movies and watch some long awaited film that has been advertised on TV for about two months. They can go whenever they so choose and sometimes at times that are ridiculous like the Twilight movie that came out at 12 PM. Much too late in my opinion, but people still went to see it.
Now what is the point you say, well did you know that a smaller portion of people don’t go to the movie theater, but instead they just watch it online? This is of course illegal, but there are websites that post these videos and people watch them.
These videos aren’t high quality at first because its basically video from a camcorder in a dakr little theater, and you can see heads at the bottom of the screen occasionally. But the thing is that its free…well you pay for your internet, but more or less it’s free.
The question is would you sacrifice quality if it was free? And would you sacrifice legality if it meant it was free?
Many people say no. They want the full blown movie with crystal clear quality and sound. And that’s why box offices are still making money…millions upon millions…but who cares its entertaining and high quality. Also, no one wants to what for the DVD to come out and be pirated on the web.
You may say pirating DVD’s and such is horrible, I am not saying its good, but you realize it does happen? Which brings up another question would you do it if it were legal?
