Angelina Jolie in the upcoming Ridley Scott?
After Prometheus, the director would like to offer a new five-star cast.
While he has just completed Prometheus, the sci-fi awaited for years by fans of Alien, Ridley Scott will start in July shooting of The Counselor, an intriguing thriller pitch, based on an original screenplay Cormac McCarthy (The Road, No Country for Old Men): the film tell the story of a young lawyer (Michael Fassbender, now showing Prometheus), who thinks he can intrude easily into the world of drugs in order to make money easily. Natalie Portman, Jeremy Renner and Javier Bardem are currently in negotiations to star in the film. Belle distribution perspective, therefore.
This is due to sources within the staff that Vulture has learned that Angelina Jolie would be added to this list of actors for a very small role, whose nature was not revealed. 20th Century Fox is apparently in “active discussions” concerning the distribution, to meet a tight schedule.
The project is particularly exciting that Angelina Jolie and Ridley Scott had to work together for some time: the director wanted the actress to take the biopic of Gertrude Bell. The project now seems to be lost in limbo, multiplying projects director and the actress is attached to the role of Maleficent in Disney.
Finally, the source reveals a surprising story: Brad Pitt has also applied himself to get a role in The Counselor. Vulture suggests that participation is now unlikely, but if she would eventually be confirmed, it would be the first time in seven years (and Mr. and Mrs. Smith) that the couple would meet on the screen. That said, even if they end up on this film, nothing says they share a scene, and if that’s the case, it would be of short duration, the role of Angelina being presented rather as a cameo.
