A Knight’s Tale

Bytes of reel truths I gleaned from this awesome movie, of love, inspiration and hope that one’s dreams can come true if you hold on to them hard enough.

I haven’t heard of one person who didn’t enjoy this movie.  I loved the script and the choice of actors and the entertaining way of delivery to its audience.

The underlying love story was something that even challenged me in my approach to relationships.  What a wise girl is our heroine in this story.  She was smart enough to ask her suitor to lay down everything, she examined his declarations of love and tested the strength of these.

A challenge to all females I should think.

Does he REALLY love you?

Well test him.  But first you have to be prepared to lose him, because if he fails the test he is not worthy of such a prize as you.

This is the underlying statement of why I admire her actions so much, she valued herself enough to be able to say “I love you but lets see if you are worthy of me and my love”.

I love the whole inspirational aspect the boy had a dream, and his father supported his dreams, his words breathed life into his desires and they stayed with him through his life.  His father showed the highest form of fatherly love when he gave up something precious to him (his son) to catapult him to his destiny.  How many parent hold on to their children out of selfish needs or fears.

The most memorable moment in the film was the moment the Prince knighted the lowly peasant and made him a noble.

Being changed in a moment from being a nothing, a nobody, into someone respected and honoured, by royalty no less.

This is the Crown of the whole movie for me.

This is demonstrative of what it is like at Salvation.  You accept Jesus Christ into your life, as payment for your debt of sin against God.  You invite Him into your life, in other words you submit yourself to His Kingship – Lordship and you are instantly transformed from something spiritually despicable and undesirable to something of great value and worth.

You become a child of a King, the King of all Kings.  There has been and never will there be a greater one than He.
