The film ‘The Lion King’ is reborn in 3D format managed to establish itself at the top of U.S. box office and Canada for two consecutive weeks.

Quoted from page to Reuters, the film production house Walt Disney was earned revenues of U.S. $ 22.1 million  in the second week of screenings.

The film, starring newcomer Brad Pitt, ‘Moneyball’ even fails to shift one of the most successful animated films of all time. Film ‘Moneyball’ is only able to sit in two box office rankings, followed by the movie ‘Dolphin Tale’ at No. 3.

Ticket sales movie ‘The Lion King’ 3D exceeded industry expectations indeed. In total, this film managed to pocket the revenues of U.S. $ 77.7 million worldwide. Seeing that success, Disney did not throw away the opportunity and will extend the delivery of ‘The Lion King’ 3D in theaters for two weeks.

“We are working to meet that demand,” said Executive Vice President for Sections Disney Motion Picture Distribution and Sales, Dave Hollis.
