Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

The Ice Age crew is back with their third adventure in 3D.  And this time there not alone but accompanied by dinosaurs and an insane weasel. So what was good and what was bad?

            As usually the Ice Age movies are targeted to kids and most of the time makes no effort to squeeze in something for more of a mature audience. But in this one there was the occasional joke only an older audience would get. But for kids on the other hand will be entertained and will get lots of laughs out of it. So will you be bored for about 95% of the movie yes, but remember the kids will have a lot of fun and will thank you for taking them to go see it.

            And now for the bad parts of this movie.  I thought most of the jokes are getting old especially that crazy squirrel. After seeing him throughout the first two movies it got kind of annoying. Another big complaint is that the story in this movie is just so thin and really had nothing going on in it. It felt like they put no effort into in and just wanted to sell some toys off of the movie.

            But there’s one other big aspect of the movie that’s important; the movies is in 3D. So is it worth paying the extra two or three dollars to see it in 3D? It’s short and simple and the answer is no. Once again 3D is used just for promotion to pull people in to see their movie. When I think back to this movie there is literally no 3D except for one moment at the absolute end which really bothered me.

            So the bottom line is don’t see it in 3D, don’t go in to this movie in less you have kids, and most of all cross your fingers and hope they don’t make a fourth Ice Age movie.
