The Scorpion King

I recently watched “The Scorpion King” starring wrestling phenomena The Rock. I enjoy history a lot so needless to say The Scorpion King’s Egyptian theme had me enthralled from the beginning. I found the story line a little reminiscent of the Mummy, but I am not complaining I liked that movie too.

The Scorpion King was dramatic,but not sappy,action packed but not chauvinistic,and one of the best all around historical fiction works I have seen. I was surprised at how well the Rock went from the ring to the screen. I hope his fans take no offense to this but he’s a better actor than wrestler in my opinion.

Anyone that has yet to see the Scorpion King, go see it! The film has been out for quite a while. Earlier I mentioned the mummy, but in fact the Scorpion King gives the mummy a definite run for its money. If I was making a comparison I’d say that the Scorpion King is the better film though.

My dear readers, history buff or not you should not miss this film. I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised by its entertainment value. Too many people are critics these days,often they read too much into films for “subliminal messages.” I say dear ones watch the film and enjoy it for what it is.
