The wrestler staring Mickey Rourke is a dark story of a weathered wrestler who had a peaked fame in the 1980’s. It follows him as he struggles with medical, financial and love issues. He struggles to make ends meet and resorts to making an extra buck with fan signing in school halls. He desperately tries to win the heart of a stripper who is insistent to keep work work. In amongst this he tries to patch a failed relationship with his daughter who wants nothing to do with him.
Do not be fooled by the name as this is a sad story and is very compelling. Mickey Rourke does a great job at making a sense of realism in the acting and also delivers emotional scripts throughout.
