Movie Review: Taken

Taken, a 2008 action movie, starring Liam Neeson.

Taken is about a retired government spy, played by Neeson. His ex-wife despises him and is trying to maintain a relationship with his daughter. His daughter goes on a trip to Paris with her friend, they are kidnapped and sold in the sex trade.

Neeson has to travel to Paris and bring out his former spy skills to rescue his daughter and track the vicious gang who captured her. This high intensity flick is one of the best of its kind. Neeson plays the part very well, giving a good name to movie spies through the times. His intensity throughout the movie is impressing creating a action packed movie.

During the movie old bonds are broken and relationships are put to the test between characters. Any action fan will get a kick out of this one. The movie sends a strong message about kidnapping and how girls are put in the sex trade. It is very informative about this and many will see what it is really like.

Overall, this flick is a brilliant all round action thriller. The acting is brilliant with Neeson putting in a brilliant performance and playing the spy very well. The movie is probably not suitable for kids as it is recommended for 15+ and is pretty gruesome in some parts. The action is very realistic and life-like. I recommend this for all who like a decent action movie.
