The entire movie takes place on Christmas Eve. Santa and his elves are out making deliveries to all the little children of the world. But Santa is not using his sleigh and reindeer as you may have thought. No, Santa has gotten a lot more modern that that. He is using his son’s invention, the S-1, which looks like a giant red space ship. Santa is getting old (of course) and Steve, Santa’s son is ready to take over from his father as the new Santa. Arthur, the younger son works in the mail room answering the many letters from children.
When Santa and the elves arrive back at the North Pole everyone gives a big cheer and are very happy, that is until they realize that one package has been left behind. What does this mean? Well, it obviously means that one child is not going to receive a gift from Santa. The only one who seems to want to do anything about it is not Santa, but Arthur. Arthur cannot do it on his own though, so his grandfather, Grand-Santa comes along to help.
There are many voices in this film that you or your children will recognize. Some of the actors that lent their voice talents to this project are from the Harry Potter movies: Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Imelda Staunton (Prof. Umbridge), Jim Broadbent (Prof. Slughorn), and Bill Nighy (Rufus Scrimgour). Along with these wonderful actors are Andy Serkis (Gollum from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit), Eva Longoria, Joan Cusack, and James McAvoy as Arthur.
This movie is hilarious, heart-warming, and loads of family fun. I hope that you get a chance to watch this movie. I really think that you will enjoy it. This is one of the best movies that I have seen in a very long time. I give this movie a 9 out of 10.
