Morgan Freeman Dead?
In a year where many well-known names are passing away, the celebrity death hoaxes continue. This time, it is one of the most iconic actors of all time in Morgan Freeman. As of Saturday, September 8, 2012 though, his representative confirmed to the world that Freeman is indeed alive and well.
Much like the death hoax of Bill Cosby in late August, a Facebook page was created for Freeman regarding his death. In mere hours, the page was gaining in popularity and actually has gained more than 60,000 “likes.”
Upon the news circulation of Freeman’s death, a representative told E! Online:
“Morgan is alive and well, and joins the long list of actors who have been victimized by this hoax.”
When looking at the information listed on Freeman’s Facebook page, – that many people don’t usually look at – it says that “He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the internet.”
This goes to show the world that the creators of the page weren’t looking to actually start a hoax of Morgan Freeman being dead, but just to make fun of the internet. Needless to say, but they succeeded easily.
So far this year, rumors of celebrity deaths have been circulated for Bill Cosby, Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa, Reese Witherspoon, and Usher. Of course, all have proven to be false.
