How to Audition and Get The Part

A job interview might be likened to an actual audition.  It is all the same when you try to weigh your competition as other people might actually lower down your chances.  Knowing how to audition and get the part properly lowers down your anxiety at least.  Although making a huge effort for you to be cast is not sometimes enough, you owe it to yourself to prepare and give yourself a good chance.

Pleasing the staff can give you bonus points.  When Heather Morris went to teach Glee cast members how to dance ‘Single Ladies,’ everyone adored her.  She quickly was cast as the dumb cheerleader who was not originally in the script.  Talk about creating new opportunities exclusively for yourself and owning it.

Even in this lottery of factors in successful auditions, anyone should be prepared at least for anything.   You might be rusty running lines and differentiating how to say the high emotional parts of the script.  Therefore, a refresher course in front of the mirror may go a long way.  You might not get cast at the leading role but maybe they will see other things from you.

If you want to get in a movie remake, it is absolutely a sin not to look at one single YouTube video about it. It might save some time for you to do a little research on the roles if you fit at least two.  Back up plans are also welcome.  A great actor after all can adapt easily to roles on a whim.

Producers already have an instinct of who to place in that role even before the audition.  Of course they know that looks can be deceiving but overall it varies on how much of the looks of the actor can be compromised to be bargained of acceptability.  Jennifer Lopez landed the part of the lead Selena not because she can sing well or look almost like Selena.  She landed the part to become characteristically like her.  Any gesture and just by the way you laugh can mean a lot and can win them over.

Exposure is still highly coveted on big budget films and landing your fifteen minutes of fame can lead to somewhere. Better stick to what you know until you establish yourself as a reputable actor.  Angelina Jolie’s early appearances went as far back on a couple of music videos.  She appeared on the music video ‘Stand by my Woman’ by Lenny Kravitz.  It did not even do her justice at all.  I can only assume to see ‘parts’ of her face since she was not the only woman there.Audition

Successful role portrayal has to do something with drawing an image in your mind and creating your own version of the character.  You need to retain a little of your inner self as well as portray the part according to how you understand the character.
