This movie had a great cast and good visual effects.Respect was the main theme.Vin Diesel is a good  action actor, and like Bruce Willis, his name is synomous with action movies. The buddy system between Vin Diesel’s character and Paul Walker works well in the story.Most fans would have seen the movie because they like fast, sporty, good looking cars.

Dominic and Brian.Buddies bonded by ‘Respect’ and fast cars.

Introduction

Brian O’Conner, acted by Paul Walker, is an undercover officer working for the LAPD, whose task is to infiltrate the street racing scene, to discover the source of the high speed hijackings of trucks in the area.

Respect the hot Sports Car

Paul Walker’s car is lost in a street race, then recovered but later blown up!.Pity, they show no respect for the machine.

The car that the main character drives is a masterpiece of design.It’s got hot colours, a nice green sporty lines, sleek and sexy lines as well.However, Brian is not good at bets and he loses the main race, to a more street savvy Vin Diesel alas Dominic Toretto, who knows the game of street racing all too well.The car is a Mitsubishi Eclipse, a nice japanese design.Most hot looking cars come from Japan.

Respect  — Street Talk

When I heard about “respect”, I thought to myself, what the heck? But guess what, it’s more important than what you think.Brian O’connor(Paul Walker) brings in the theme when he bets his sports car saying that if he wins ‘he wants the respect’.

When you think about it, when you win a race, you get popular with fans.Dominic(vin diesel) wins the race, and everyone is around him like hot cakes.One of the losers, gets snobbed him by the girl, who blasts him saying ‘you didn’t win’. It’s not just money that you lose, you literally lose the ‘Admiration’ of people who know or don’t know you.Your name suffers. When you think about it, this ‘respect’ talk happens in life.Just look at politics.A name is everything.

Dominic — Guess what? I got ‘the respect’ and you don’t.

Respect — Don’t mess with the gangs.

There is a main gang, whose leader is Johnny Tran, who means serious business. He gets his ‘respect’, by treating people like animals, and using violence and intimidation to subdue his enemies.He’s also a killer.He is the main villain in the film, and is responsible for blowing up Brian’s(Paul walker)  beautiful green sports car.What a waste.

You don’t want to mess with the gang.They demand respect, even by violent means.

Johnny

Tran also means business when he pumps oil in someone’s mouth till they drop.He also shoots down Dominic’s (vin diesel) buddy, Jess, after he fails to give his car after losing a pink race.

After watching the crazy violence of this gang, you’ll know the meaning of ‘respect’.

Respect —> Keeps you out of trouble

Brian also helps out in airlifting dominic’s gang member Vince, to hospital, saving him from life threatening injuries.But revealing that he’s a cop on the phone, and Dominic hearing this, he gets real angry of Brian’s deceit. Dominic feels tricked and respect has suffered.

You’ll think that  Brian being a cop would dob in Dominic(Vin Diesel). Well, this cop doesn’t go by the rules and helps his buddy escape the cops.Guess what saved him? You guessed right, RESPECT. Respect for your friends goes above the law, that’s how strong it is.

Anyway, there are like 4 movies in this franchise, and I’ve only seen the first one.It’s the original and the best of the whole lot.Highly recommended.
