There have been a lot of rumors going around about Ghostbusters 3. You hear one thing then another, and it’s hard to keep track as to what might be legitimate. So I have done some research to find out what might actually be going on.
To start off Harold Ramis said to HeeB that Dan Aykroyd wrote up a spec Ghostbusters 3 script, and inicially everyone had little to no interest in it, but after realizing the fan base’s want for a new sequel they seemed to reconsider. Which brings us to the biggest point, Ghostbusters 3 is going to happen. It’s been confirmed by both Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver. Also according to Sigourney Weaver, she said to Shock Till You Drop that all of the original Ghostbusters will be in the newest addition to the series, and they are even bringing back Dana Barrett’s (Sigourney Weaver) child Oscar. Sigourney Weaver isn’t sure if she’s going to be in the movie, but she did say she heard that Bill Murray’s character Peter Venkman might be coming back as a ghost. Harold Ramis also confirmed that there will be new younger Ghostbusters in the new film. Oh and before I forget Ivan Reitman has said that the writers of “Year One” are writing the second draft of the film, and refuses to comment on what Sigourney said about Venkman being a slimer ghost. I honestly would prefer Dan Aykroyd to be the finalized writer of the script, but I guess beggars can’t be choosers in this case.
