Release Day

 2012 was scheduled to be released in July 10, 2010 but was changed to November 12, 2009 and November 13, 2009 in America. The release day was moved up due to the fact that summer is a busy time for people, who travel to other countries and others who attend work. This was taken in, as a factor which was a huge disadvantage for the profit gained. The early release will attract more people to viewing the movie in the theatres and cinemas, as a result, the movie will then end up making more profit.

 Plot

 This movie focuses on the doomsday, which may occur on December 21, 2012 as predicted by the Mayan calendar. As the government of California promises to tell the citizens about the disaster that is going to take place, they realize that the signs appear earlier than they had predicted. They decide to make these ships to save the human species before it is lost.

Over the days, they realized that cracks and other destructive related objects and events occurred. Than the main character rents a plane to save his family and tells them that there is danger, and when his ex-wife refuses to believe him, there is a massive earthquake. Experiencing this tragedy, they travel to the airport and his ex wife’s boyfriend takes off in the airplane.

As they are in the air, they realize that not only California is going down, but other places as well. As one of the survivors, they must go to China to survive. They experience storms, earthquakes and tsunamis, which take down many cultural symbols presented in the movie.

Production

The director of the movie is Roland Emmerich. Filming took place in Los Angeles and than in Vancouver. The movies budget was around $ 200 million dollars.
